Tool North, Inc., founded in 1978, is a manufacturing company specializing in the design and build of special machines and automation systems. These systems include but are not limited to: In-line and/or Rotary Dial type Metal Removal Systems, Water Jet Cutting Systems for the Food Industry, Laser Welding Systems, Assembly Systems, Systems Integration and Robotics, all utilizing the latest “State of the Art” Controls and Components.    Tool North is located in the Traverse City Airport Industrial Park, adjacent to the Cherry Capital Airport, which is served by (4) major Airlines. The company is in a modern 32,000 square foot facility, and employs 51 people.

   Tool North offers complete engineering services including concept and design of all controls and mechanical requirements.  The controls design team employs Allen Bradley SLCs and Indramat PCs. Devicenet and Ethernet communication protocols are used to control Indramat and Allen Bradley servo systems and hydraulic-pneumatic work stations.  Our innovative mechanical concept and design team utilizes AutoCAD and SolidWorks to provide accurate 2D and 3D mechanical diagrams.

   The company also maintains a modern machine shop staffed with a skilled workforce, as well as a climate controlled CMM room for part verification.
